মা মঙ্গলচণ্ডী - Maa Mangal Chandi

অভীষ্ট সিদ্ধিমানসে হিন্দু মহিলা মঙ্গলবারে মঙ্গলচণ্ডী দেবীর অর্চনা ও ব্রত উপসাবাদি করে থাকেন। ধনপতি সওদাগরের পত্নী খুল্লনা প্রথম মঙ্গলচণ্ডীদেবীর পূজার প্রবর্তন করেন। এই খুল্লনার নামানুসারেই বাংলাদেশের ‘খুলনা’ জেলার নামকরণ হয়েছে বলে জনশ্রুতি। দেবীর করুণাশক্তি অমোঘ। তাঁর শরণাগত হলে নির্ধন ধনী হয়, অন্ধ নয়ন পায়, বন্ধ্যা পুত্র লাভ করে, খঞ্জ চরণযুক্ত হয়। সংসারজীবনে এই মঙ্গলময়ীর আরাধনা তাই একান্তই প্রয়োজন। কুমারীজীবন থেকেই তারা আরাধনা শুরু করে এবং সমগ্র জীবনব্যাপী তা চলতে থাকে।

গৃহে গৃহে যিঁনি মঙ্গল প্রদান করেন, দেবীর সেই স্বরূপ ভক্তের কাছে "মঙ্গলচণ্ডিকা"। বৈশাখ মাসের সমস্ত মঙ্গল ও শণিবারে দেবীর এই রূপের পূজা হয় । দেবী মঙ্গল চণ্ডীর দুটি রূপে পূজা হয়, এক কমলে বিরাজিতা মূর্তি, অপরটি সিংহাসীনা মূর্তি। দেবী মঙ্গলচণ্ডী "চণ্ডীমঙ্গল" কাব্যের বর্ণিত সেই দেবী। পাঁচালীতে সেই কালকেতু ও ফুল্লরার উপাখ্যান পাঠ করা হয় । মঙ্গলকাব্যের সেই দেবী চণ্ডী আজ গৃহে গৃহে মঙ্গলচণ্ডী নামে পূজিতা ।

Goddess Mangalachandi is the goddess described in the poem "ChandiMangal". In the Panchali, the story of that Kaleketu and Fullara is recited. Chandi, the goddess of Mangalakavi, is worshiped at home today at home.
